The Pinnacles Track

This place is pretty special. It seems to be that a good portion of the population from Auckland have been here, typically because of a school or club tramping trip. Being only about 1.5hrs out of Auckland at the base of the Coromandal Peninsula, it’s easy to see why this trail is so popular.

There is a huge hut to spend the night at, sleeping up to 80 people. This is great when you want to go hiking with a larger group. But for those who are after a more peaceful overnight experience, the nearby campground is a much better option.

I think anyone visiting the coromandal should put this trail on their list - Best to be done overnight with a clear forecast but fantastic as a day trip too.
